This year’s weather has been odd, to say the least.

I live in Central Texas.  We have had record breaking heat this summer, where our temperatures have been over 100 Farenheit for over 20 days.  The temperature hasn’t been simply 100 it has been  105- 107 in some places. Too make matters more uncomfortable the heat index, (which means what  the temperature feels like to your body is much higher), has been readings of 115- 120 Farenheit
in some areas.

On the opposite end of the spectrum in early June parts of North Dakota got snow fall. In yet other parts of the country, such as New York, there has been an abundance of rainfall.

What makes these strange weather patterns? Some experts say that the cause is El Nino, a weather pattern in the Pacific which affects the Jetstream. The weather forecasters are predicting a milder, yet wetter Autumn and Winter for our area, ironic sinceright now in Central Texas we are in a very severe drought.

Our odd weather has even made World News reports. 

Certainly, it seems interesting to note these extremes in temperature and see what happens with our weather in the coming months.
