Lightning Display

We had a few severe storms tonight. The lightning show was delightful. I’ll be catching pictures next time.

We had quite a display of lightning tonight as the severe thunderstorms rolled through. Thankfully we seemed to have escaped the tragedy that occurred last night and everyone seems to be safe.  In my hometown three different houses caught on fire last night. Two of those were determined to be caused by lightning.

Tonight as I was watching the amazing display of mother nature’s lightening I noticed that it was more intense than I’ve seen lightening in years past. I’ve been noticing this kind of thing a lot lately. Storms seem to be stronger and more severe. However I don’t think it’s got anything to do with global warming. Last winter was one of the coldest winters on record here. So just what is it?

I believe that it’s just a cycle that we go through every so many years. The weather patterns change and things heat up. The sky becomes more electrified and that’s when we see the really cool lightening shows.  We have certainly had our fair share of tragedies in the past year or two weatherise.  Lot’s of earthquakes and tornado’s have occurred.  We’ve spent a lot of our time responding to disasters and helping those in need.

It appears there’s a hurricane heading towards the east coast.  This would be the first hurricane of the season. Hopefully everyone stays safe down there.  I could never live in that area. They are having to board up and skip town all too often for me. I like to be in a peaceful area where I cannot be disturbed.
