Blizzards: Mother Nature Can Get Nasty

A disaster that will send you flailing for the blanket.

Blizzards. Cold.  Dark.  Windy.  Blustery winds force several feet of snow on focused spots for long periods of time.  January has approached and along with it comes several storms that will cause natural disasters known as blizzards.  Why does this happen?  A cold air mass moves out of the Arctic into the temperate zone.

The heavy cold air rises along the boundary between the two air masses.
This boundary is called a cold front.  Similar to a hurricane, a blizzard often has an eye which snow circulates around.  This can happen for hours on end and can cause mass destruction.  While a snow shower perhaps can be missed by a doppler radar, it is almost impossible for a radar to miss a blizzard.

When a blizzard is supposed to hit, all you can do is stock up on food and find a place to stay, and pray that it will end soon enough.

Thanks for your time!!
