In west coast of africa, lies the beautiful country Nigeria. Expanse of green lands span the south-western axis of the country, the atlantic bathes shores of its coast. The south-western states include Lagos,Osun,Ekiti,Oyo,Ondo,Ogun .

Its has been a sunny day, the evening  approaches, cool breeezes blow with swaying of the trees and the rustling of leaves, thick dark clouds towers above the houses, suddenly the breeze turns into strong winds blowing dirts across the streets –everywhere.Slowly the thunder rolls in,sparks of lightning dominate the skies, you could easily see the outlines of far away buildings, all of a sudden people start running helter skelter, traders start shutting thier stores, farmers run towards home, the children are happy, simply, its going to rain.

The rainy season  comes betweeen the months of february through october,it peaks between June to August. During the day the temperature reaches 29-31⁰c on average. The south west trade winds from the atlantic brings in moist air, which moves inland , this apparently brings the rains.

The rain could be convectional which is characterised by heavy rainfalls, thunder storms, intense sunlight while orographic or relief is a type which occurs in hilly areas, when warm air rises uphill carrying moist air,it condenses to fall back as rain.

The rain heralds the a priod of calmness.A rain all night rocks you into deep night sleep, waking up the next  morning, opening  your window  to draw in the fresh morning air, so revitalising ,the wonderful view so captivating; clear blue skies, flourishing of the trees, the green lustre of the forest, the misty moutains, the chirping of birds-so serene- a mindset of a perfect world.

The season comes with a variety of produce  from grains to fruits like maize, garden eggs, tomatoes and so on.what do you think, wouldn’t it be a lovely place to be.
