Kaolinite Minera: A Source for China Clay

Very few people are aware of the fact that China clay or porcelain has its main component as Kaolinite, a clay mineral. The name is derived from Chinese language meaning High hill.

Kaolin is used for various purposes and is common for miners. It is used in toothpaste, cosmetics, ceramics, medicine, light bulbs etc. While most of us are aware of China cups and china clay, Kaolin is mostly used in preparation of paper.

Kaolinite is mined in countries like United Kingdom, India, Australia, France, Korea, United States, Brazil, France and Czech Republic.

After mining this mineral it is processed by chemical weathering of aluminum silicate and is found in different colors like white, yellow, orange and pink red.
