Global Warming

How do we stop it?

Is it really happening? Are we on the verge of a global meltdown scientists tell us one thing But what are the facts? For years we used up fossil fuel and ignored the warning signs now I honestly feel it is to late to turn back. How many people are abusing the environment. They don’t care . What do we have to do to get through to them.

The polar bears will be extinct In less than a century. Can one person really make a difference in what is going on? We need to stop now before its two late we need to conserve the environment. Iam sick of talking about It is it all talk.

Sometimes I feel like it is. It is not just Alaska the moose are also in danger in Minnesota Of becoming extinct. It is to warm for them to survive. I have noticed in the past ten years how much milder Minnesota is even thou it is still a brutal climate. The winters are much shorter and summers Are longer then they should be. Because of that certain diseases and insects now survive the winter When everything used to die. We are in danger if we do not stop now there is no half way do it now.

I wish it was longer. It kept me hanging. I enjoyed reading it. Keep up the good work!!!

If you like - you can read Eco Dollars & The Human Footprint…We can all do small things to help with climate change. If we all do small things - those small things may add up to one big thing and it could be the “big thing” that helps stablize.

To stop global warming is a collective effort. And there are many uncooperative people and countries out there, that put priorities on their bottom line at the expense of our environment. Great article. Thanks for bringing awareness on the subject.

i have to say first that i try my best to be good to the environment. got rid of my car and now ride a bike, try to cut down on how may car trips the family makes and make them count, recycle and save as much water and electricity as i possibly can.

having said that, i dont think for a second that all the things i do will really make a difference. our worlds governments should have been doing something about it a long time ago but NO we must get all the money and forget about mother nature.

why do we not have solar and wind power readily available in the usa? because the government will not allow it, would cut down on the profits that they collect!!!!!

and i feel sorry for the polar bears, but people are right behind them.

i do not mean to discourage anyone from doing their part, as we will all need to learn how to live in a very different world very soon and they all the things that they have taught us that we need to do to make a difference really will make a difference then.

MrBliss….i am sorry for going off in your article. i hope that i have offended no one. this is a very thought provoking article. good job!!!

OH, GLOBAL WARMING IS KILLING EVERYTHING! PANIC! RUN AWAY! What is causing global warming? CO2. Where’s the proof? Why, everywhere, just look around! No, I mean where’s the proof that CO2 is causing global warming and not something else? Err… GLOBAL WARMING IS KILLING EVERYTHING WHY WON’T YOU DO SOMETHING?

Global warming may or may not be a serious threat. It may be a trend. But the one thing for sure, is that CO2 is NOT what is causing it. At all. Scientifically, this is proven. It is because people have been mislead on knowing how greenhouse gases work. They think it’s like a blanket, it’s not. It absorbs radiation, not trap it in.

It’s all a hoax anyways. No proof of CO2 harming the environment, especially since man made emissions only make what, not even .05% of the air. All of the CO2 causes .28% greenhouse effect. Numerous other proofs against it, and it provides no proofs, and is basically just a fear campaign that hinders the poor nations. Real causes of our current global warming trend? Oh, I don’t know… how about that huge massive glowing ball of gas that has always controlled Earth’s temperature. CO2, ha, no, how about we stick to the real threats: deforestation, our disappearing rain forests, species disappearing, over-hunting, overfishing, pollution of plastics (I mean, that new plastic landmass in the Pacific must do something to temperature…), water crisis… so many things, yet all overshadowed by a fake and pathetic hoax.

And just so you know, polar bear population has increased by nearly 20% over the past decade, yes, with the hoax of global warming. Furthermore, polar bears don’t actually need ice to live, it’s convenient but not necessary (the camouflage only helps against predators on land, humans, which is limited by our society), remove the ice, and their basically water brown bears.

Oh, and guess what? Your moose facts are out of whack. Moose from around across the world are staying at stable levels, some even increasing. So “global” warming is out of the question as a cause. Furthermore, the Minnesota moose population is still in a relative high. Just so you know, your wildlife experts and forest rangers place the likely blame as diseases and parasites. In particular a combination of two, such as the brainworm with something else such as winter ticks.

For those who don’t believe that humans are the current cause of climate change, just check out the IPCC’s website. They’ve done extensive scientific studies over the last few hundred years and have calculated carbon dioxide emissions over this period, and since the advent of the industrial revolution, these emissions have increased exponentially.

The climate change would have occurred naturally, yes, but we have the scientific proof that anthropogenic emissions (those that are caused by human activity) are the sole reason that these gases are in such large quantities and are affecting the current climate in such a way.

WE have caused it, and unfortunately the rest of the animal kingdom (and plant kingdom for that matter) are suffering the consequences. I don’t personally think there’s enough time left to reverse the process we’ve set in motion, but we do have time to adapt to the situation and to try to make amends in some ways.

If you’re interested in actually learning about the facts (GMNightmare in particular here), go to http://www.newscientist.com and have a look at their global warming special. Oh, and just as a FYI, polar bears actually need to ice to migrate across the ocean in search of food during the winter months or they’d starve. As the ice sheets aren’t there in big enough quantities now, that’s why they’re starving and looking elsewhere for food. Their colour coat evolved alongside their adaptations to their current habitat in order to make them better predators.

Hi Ice Dragon, you and the IPCC website have still failed to correlate CO2 to global warming. Did you happen to visit my website that I posted? No? I think not, because again, CO2 doesn’t cause global warming. Tell me, how, just how does CO2 cause warming? Scientifically please. No? Yeah, you and the rest of the world.

And where does your ignorance on how polar bears stem from? Did you even check your facts? Polar bears are aquatic feeders, so no, they don’t need to travel. If ice is present, they travel to the ocean, without ice they wouldn’t need to now would they? They travel in ice along winter because the ocean becomes farther away. Way to prove you know squat about animals. Again, polar bear numbers have increased dramatically. Now tell me, how does decreased ice mean they go hungry? Do they eat ice? Hell no. You make no sense, have no reason or fact behind your statement. And just to push the envelope, ice concentration has increased over the past 30 years as a whole. You know what would be a real problem facing polar bears? Over fishing. Yeah, rather pick a fight with a hoax than go without as much fish in your diet.

No, you have 0 scientific proof that “anthropogenic emissions” are the sole reason. That is a complete BS claim. So, cutting trees has no effect on our environment huh? I thought trees helped reduce CO2 in the air? Walla, you’ve just failed in your claim that producing “anthropogenic emissions” is the sole reason, already.

Again, real environmental troubles are here, I hate to be a broken record but that plastic landmass in the middle of the Pacific Ocean surely does something to temperature. No? Ah, but that would be inconvenient to our societies life, plastic after all is much more ingrained that cars (which are, heh, made of plastic). And cutting up rainforests left and right… I mean, we NEED paper and wood! What would we do without our tissues and toilet paper? Or our shelves of paper junk?

Your website gave nothing. Nothing but fear mongering article after article. Nothing of substance, no bare facts. And nobody has ever proven scientifically that CO2 causes global warming. In fact, it’s proven quite the opposite:
