OTHER BASIC INFORMATION
A mountain is a large land-form that stretches above the surrounding land in a limited area usually in the form of a peak. They are formed when the land structure is being pushed up by forces in the Earth, such as plate tectonics. Some mountains are formed by areas thrusting up over other areas; some mountains are volcanoes that have become dormant and/or extinct. Also, a mountain must be over 2,000 feet, otherwise it is just a hill.
