Effects of Volcanic Eruption

A volcanic eruption can cause so many changes, both good and bad. It affects not just people and their property. Plants and animals are also affected. Even the land may be changed by volcanic activities.
So much destruction can be seen when a volcano erupts, especially when it erupts violently. The following may be observed.
1. Loss of lives of people, plants, and animals.
2. Crushed and buried homes, uprooted trees, and fires along lava paths.
3. Blasted roofs of homes and buildings caused by volcanic bombs.
4. Fires started by volcanic ash.
5. Poisonous gases, including sulfur fumes and carbon monoxide.
6. Houses washed away by lahar flow.
Volcanic eruptions can be as devastating as earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, or other natural disasters.
Volcanic eruptions do a lot of damage, but they can do some good things, too. They can give the following benefits:
1. Formation of new land masses. The Hawaiian Islands were created by volcanic activities.
2. Release of some useful gases, including hydrogen and carbon dioxide. When hydrogen chemically reacts with oxygen, it forms water vapor. This process helps sustain the water cycle. Plants use carbon dioxide to make food.
3. Formation of rocks that are rich in material deposits. Different metals and gems are found in the rock layers. Copper, silver, and gold have all been found.
4. Formation of diamonds and other precious stones.
5. Formation of rocks that are rich in important minerals, like lead, zinc, mercury, chlorine, basalt, and silica.
6. Abundance of building and construction materials.
7. Soil fertility. Plants and crops are soon able to grow back and are better than before.
8. Geothermal energy reserve.
