Helium

The first noble gas.

Helium is the second element on the periodic table. It is the first element in the row of noble gases.

Noble gases are called noble because they very rarely interact with other elements. This comes from the time when nobility would not interact with peasants.

It is the second most common element in the universe. Some of it was formed during the seconds after the big bang. The rest is formed in stars through hydorgen fusion.

Helium is one of the rarest elements on earth.

It is lighter than air which is what makes helium balloons float.

Helium is mined on oil rigs because it is commonly found with oil.
