Chemical Reaction
An essay that describes the two types of chemical reactions.
Chemical reaction is not just important for science and experiments, it is also essential for life and everything else we do. Evidences of chemical change are bubbling, (a new gas is forming), color turns cloudy (a new solid is forming), temperature change (chemical bonds are changing), and change of color (a new substance is forming).
How it Works
There are 2 kinds of chemical reactions, endothermic and exothermic, and they both have products and reactants. You start out with the reactants to make products. Also, every reaction needs activation energy to start off, that’s why the elements in the air don’t combine into glucose and other compounds all by itself without energy.
Endothermic Reactions
The energy that an endothermic reaction release is less than its activation energy, making the reaction absorbs energy and cannot continue if the energy source is removed. An example is photosynthesis, which combines carbon dioxide, water, and sunlight into glucose and oxygen, energy is absorbed.
Exothermic Reactions
The energy that an endothermic reaction release is more than its activation energy, making the reaction radiates energy and continues even if the energy source is removed. An example is cellular respiration, which combines glucose and oxygen into carbon dioxide, water, and energy, energy is released so that you can survive.
