When Spiders Attack
Though humans are several times the size of spiders, they still instill fear in the hearts of many, and for good reason.
For me, spiders are one of the most scary things in the world. The fact that there are more than 50,000 different species does not give me a warm and fuzzy feeling. All spiders have venom, which they use to paralyze their intended victims, but thankfully, most are not lethal to humans.

Some of the most common venomous spiders are: The Black Widow spider, Redback Jumping spider, the Hobo spider, the Funnel Web spider, the Brown Widow spider, the Yellow Sac spider, jumping spiders, Golden Silk spiders, Yellow Garden spider, Wolf spiders, the Six Eyed Sand spider, Mouse spiders and Tarantulas.
The most venomous spider in the world is the Brazilian Wandering spider . This spider is only found in and around Brazil, although they may hitchhike in on bananas. So, if you ever see a large spider in a bunch of bananas, steer clear! The biggest spider in the world is considered the Bird Eating Tarantula .

The bite of most spiders will only leave a small mark, and some mild pain and redness at the spot where you were bitten. However, a bite from one of the more venomous spiders can produce a much more severe reaction. If a spider bite from a brown recluse is left for too long, a person may lose a large chunk of skin to the spiders venom.
If you or someone you know is ever bitten by a venomous spider, it is important to seek medical care immediately. It may also help the doctors if you are able to catch the spider that has bitten you (preferable alive), so that they may easily identify it, and give you the correct treatment for your bite.

The bottom line is that it is rare to encounter a venomous spider, unless you live in an area where they are indigenous. When coming into contact with a spider, however, it is a good idea to use caution, unless you know what type of spider you are dealing with. Be especially cautious with spiders around children, as they are much more susceptible to their venom.

Spiders are cool. Not that I want them running around my bedroom. Everything in it’s place.
