Helga Happ, who is the director of ttje Klagenfurt zoo said that it appears that both these turtles can’t even stand to see each other and be together. These turtles, Bibi and Poldi, female and male respectively, were in the Austrian Klagenfurt zoo for 36 years living together. Basel Zoo in Switzerland was their home before they were shifted to Austria.
Like all married-about-to-divorce couple, it was seen by the zoo staff their that Bibi. the female turtlw had bitten off a piece of Poldi’s shell. When, these fights and atttack didn’t stop, they both were separated in two different cages.
Various vetenary experts visited the zoo to examine the turtles and even fed those creatures with aphrodisiacs and made to play with each other. But all these initiatives taken have gone useless and has not been successful in making these two turtles together.
Well, this is a true example of animal divorce. However, it is not just turtles who divorce with thepartners in the animal kingdom. Researches has come across several birds who mate with its partner and then gets divorced with the partner after a year and goes to finding and mating another partner.
