Things About Animals You Did Not Know

GOLDFISH

We all believed that gold fish have a memory of 3 seconds right? Well the truth is Goldfish are not as dumb as we think they are! These fish can have their memories up to 3 months. Not only that but these fish can also tell the time of day. There were experiments done to prove this. They set up a lever so that only when the fish press it they get food. Then they made it so that the lever would only work on certain hours. The goldfish figured this out quickly and only pressed the lever when it was the correct time and no other time. SO NOW WE KNOW!

POISON DART FROG

There are many animals that are dangerous to humans. Some of these animals come in small sizes. One such animal is the poison dart frog. These frogs live in central and south America. They have enough poison to kill TWO THOUSAND people! There are different species of them but that is one dangerous frog…Like other things in nature poisonous thing usually have a bright color to them to indicate danger so these frogs would come in bright colors such as bright blue and yellow. Amazing to look at but can kill ya…I like them in the zoo.

HORNED TOAD

Although the title says Horned Toad that is just a popular name for a lizard called the Horned Lizard. These lizards look like toads because of their fat body but they are actually lizards. The reason I am mentioning these lizards is because of their ability to shoot blood from their eyes. That’s right! blood + shooting From their eyes! They do this by stopping the blood flow to their heads and then breaking tiny blood vessels near the corner of their eyes. This makes them shoot blood at the enemies that come to try and eat them. The blood is foul tasting so it makes the animal think twice before eating this “Toad”.

DONKEYS

Alright here is a fact that can help a friend who is scared to go in air planes. Donkeys might carry a good load of things for you but be careful around them because it is said that more people get killed by donkey’s then in plane crashes every year. Oh and another thing you should note just for your information is that mule will not sink in quicksand but donkeys will. Yup that’s donkeys for you!

COWS

Alright so now your sacred of donkeys not planes now lets talk about cows. Cow give milk but if they can provide you with milk to live they have the ability to release a gas that can kill you! Yup Cows release enough dangerous methane gas daily to fill about 400 liter bottles. Don’t ask who thought of testing this one out. Another thing about cows is that they are like humans. So you know you love that kid who has that accent in your class right? Well did you know cows also have different accents according to their regions?? Yes they do and they can tell the difference. So now you look at cows differently.
