The Monitor Crocodile

Facts about the monitor crocodile.

The Monitor Crocodile is a member of the reptile family and is easily distinguishable because of its distinct size; it is the longest lizard in the world.  The length of this reptile is 8 feet and can weigh up to a maximum of 210 pounds.  Most commonly this species of reptile is found in New Guinea. 

During the incubation period of 5 months the female Monitor Crocodile can produce several eggs.  The life expectancy for this species of reptile is 18 years and their sexual maturity age is 5. This species of crocodile is the only one that has a forked tongue.
