The world is full of wonderful creatures.  Big ones, small ones, colorful ones, and even ugly ones.  But most people arn’t interested in animals that just look good and do nothing.  So here is the list of the worlds most dangerous animals.

10.  The Bear

When you see a bear you better get away fast.  Bears kill between 5-10 people a year!  The main bears that are known for attacks are Grizzly bears and Black bears.  These guys like to hang out  in North America and Russia.  If you do see a bear, just remain calm, and back away slowly.  If the bear is aggressive, throw sticks and stones to scare it off.  DO NOT TURN AND RUN.  You will have a bear on top of you in hardly 5 seconds.  If you do have a bear on top of you, don’t try to act like you are dead, try and fight back.

9.  The Shark

Everybody has seen jaws.  Scary shark, eats humans, humans kill shark, end of story.  Because of this movie, sharks are stereotyped that they always attack a human they see.  That is far from the truth. Around 100 deaths a year are caused by sharks, but most are an accident, not because they feast for human blood.  Out of 360 sharks, only 4 are known to be aggressive killers: the tiger, great white, oceanic whitetip and bull sharks .  These guys are around Florida,  the south tip of Africa, and all around Australia. To avoid being attacked by sharks, don’t wear yellow or orange.  These colors seem to irritate them.  Also, sharks are more likely to attack solitary prey, not groups of people like you see in movies.

8. The Jellyfish

Small but mighty, the stinger of the sea.  These little guys actually have venom inside of their stingers.  This makes them just as dangerous as sharks.  In fact, they too cause about 100 deaths a year.  These guys hang around SouthEast Asia.  The best way to avoid stings is to wear a sting suit and if you get stung,  apply vinegar to the wound.

7.  The Hippo

This guy is not so small, but he is VERY mighty.  From a distance, the hippo appears to be a very lazy creature.  But in fact, these guys kill between 100-150 peope a year from trampling, charging, and goring humans.  They live in pretty much any water you can find in Africa.  To avoid being ripped to shreds, make sure you don’t surprise the hippo.

6.  Elephants

These guys are nice, calm, creatures that would never hurt anyone right?  WRONG.  Elephants are very unpredicting which is why they kill an alarming amount of people every year.  Between 300-500 in fact!  They live in Africa and India, but the most deaths come from inside of your local zoo!  Elephants are known to kill zoo keepers that they have worked with for over 15 years!  Just like the hippo, to avoid an attack, don’t startle the big guy.

5.  Crocodiles

You expected it to be somewhere on this list and to be dangerous.  But what you didn’t know is that they kill around 600-800 people every year.  You will stand no chance against an Crocodile attack because of the Crocodile’s several rows of sharp teeth that will shred human skin.  Straight from captain obvious, don’t swim in water with Crocodiles.

4.  Cats

Not the furry felines you have at home, the real deal.  These guys kill over 800 people a year.  Many cats will not charge at a human, in fact they will run the other way.  But if you are the one that turns and runs, that cat will be charging after you.  Don’t mess with these guys.

3.  Scorpions

Highly deadly and twice as ugly,  these guys hurt!  Not only does a sting from it’s tail leave a mark, it caused people to get very sick a possibly die if not treated.  For this reason, 800-2000 people die every year from a scorpion sting.  Don’t travel at night by foot, and don’t disturb them in hiding.

2.  Snakes

Many people can’t stand snakes because of their looks.  But this will give you another reason to stay away from these venomous guys.  They kill between 2700-3000 people a year!  Snakes live almost everywhere, so watch out!

1.  Spiders

Yep!  You guessed it!  Spiders are the most dangerous creatures in the world, and also the most ugly.  They kill between 2800-3200 people a year!  They cause the most deaths because of where you find them…boots, bed sheets, and other dark and warm places they can find.  While they are the most dangerous, most of them you have nothing to worry about.  As for avoiding them, you really can’t.  If you are really scared, check your sheets and shoes before you use them.
