Six Spectacular Cats: Animals You Just Don’t Want to See Lurking Around Your House
Here is a list of animals that are most feared by most of the people. They may look ferocious but then they are just like ordinary cats that need love and care.
There are many kinds of cats in this world but there are some that are most feared by many people because of how they look. Below is the list of big cats that you just want to see outside of its cage.
-
Puma

When we think of the word “puma”, we might directly think of the brand that is very famous, but actually it is a kind of animal that is within the family of cats. This mammal with the latin name “Felis Concolor” is the 2nd largest cat in America. This is believed to have existed more than 11 years ago. Puma is considered a champion in jumping because of the range of height it can reach when it jumps. There are at least 32 subspecies of Puma that are recorded not until the 1990’s but some of them just have such similarities that you cannot even consider it as different. The life expectancy of this mammal is up to 20 years in captivity but only 8-13 years in the wild. The most common reasons for Puma’s death are diseases and human hunting.
-
Leopard

This mammal is considered to be one of the smallest among the big cats. Leopards are noted to be great climbers because they rest on branches of the trees, and they are also considered to be nocturnals because most of their activities are done at night. Although most of the leopards tend to avoid humans but then there are some who have attempted to kill humans and some even have already killed 40- 400 humans.
-
Cheetah

This mammal is considered to be the fastest runner reaching the speed of 70 miles per hour, could you just imagine that? This is because of its lung formation. The truth is, cheetahs can never roar like any other tiger at present but there are some substitutes to that. They have these types of vocalization such as Chirping, Stuttering, Growling, Yowling, and Purring.
-
Tiger

Actually, these tigers are one of the most common tigers that we see in the zoo and even in television shows. Although they are very feared, they belong to the most endangered big cats in the world because of the loss of natural habitat in the wild. They are very territorial especially for adults, but their home range actually depends on the abundance of prey.
-
Panther

They are almost the same as the other big cats, but they only differ on the stripes on the coating. They are very carnivorous because they only et meal, and they are known to be opportunistic predators because they hunt more than 87 species. They are almost near to threatened species because of the destruction of their natural habitat and some of hold them in captivity. It is believed that this kind of cat has existed for two million years ago and it is proven by fossil records found on the archive.
-
Lion

The Lion or the ‘King of the Jungle’ is considered to be the second largest feline after the tiger. They are very vulnerable in the modern times because of the rapid decline of population. In captivity both male and female lions can live for over 20 years. They typically inhabit savanna and grassland, although they may take to bush and forest. Lions are unusually social compared to other cats. A pride of lions consists of related females and offspring and a small number of adult males.

Just this spring my daughter saw a cougar (Aka PUMA) from he school bus on the way home from school, it was about 2 miles from here. Because we have pets like sheep and stuff, I particularly did NOT like this news.
