Rare Animals You May Have Never Seen Before

Are you interested in seeing some rare animals that you may have never heard of or seen before? Take the time to check these out. They are all on the endangered species list.

  1. Yellow Tailed Woolly Monkey

Before the 1950’s, the yellow-tailed woolly monkey’s habitat was difficult to access. However, with time, man made advancements and the species naturally slow maturation process and low reproductive rate it has been added to the list of endangered species.

  2. Red Wolf

It has been hypothesized that the red wolfs’ existence has become endangered due to poisoning and trapping to prevent them from threatening livestock, hunting, and the changing habitat.

  3. Visayan Spotted Deer

This beautiful animal’s decline is also due to the loss of its habitat and hunting pressures. The obvious tragic pattern cannot be denied.

  4. Iberian Lynx

Much of the Iberian lynx’s decline can be attributed to myxomatosis, a disease which eradicated many of the European rabbits that were this species main prey. But habitat loss, poisoning set for other animals, road kill, and illegal hunting have also contributed to the significant population decrease of this species.

  5. Arabian Oryx

The biggest factor in the Arabian oryx’s species decline is due to over hunting. The Arabian oryx’s meat and hides have been highly sought after. These animals have also been the victims of hunting for sport.

What Can You Do To Help?

Below are three different charities that work tirelessly to save these among the many other endangered animals from becoming instinct. You can do your part too!

  1. Animal Charities of America

This charity takes the time to pre-screen various animal charities and makes them readily accessible for your generous consideration.

  2. World Wild Federation

This organization uses donations to provide safe environments for endangered species to breed on.

  3. Donation4Charity

This organization allows you the opportunity to adopt-a-pet with a donation. You will then receive a picture, details, and a certificate of your animal among other items.

Great article. I am a member of a few animal organizations, I try to save every animal I can. I spend a lot of time bottle feeding small animals anywhere from kittens to wild racoons. It is fun and a great feeling knowing that I am doing something to help.

I liked this article…. These are beautiful pictures of some very unique and interesting looking animals. I have never believed in hunting although I know it’s a sport for many.

I’ve seen a few of these; the red wolf stands out because I’ve studied wolves for years (the wolf is also my totem). I’m glad to see this, and to know that more and more people are becoming aware of endangered animals. This article furthers that effort. Thanks.

Hey, wait a minute. You’re hitting too close to home with that monkey. My grandfather looked like that Yellow Tailed Wooly Monkey! Another interesting bit of journalism, as always!
