Pythons Threaten Florida Everglades

Pythons that were released into the Florida Everglades threaten local wild life.

The Everglades supply the pythons with a large food supply as well as shelter. Due to these factors the pythons are reproducing at a staggering rate. If this trend were to continue most of the Southern United States would be suitable homes for Burmese Pythons. Authorities as well as concerned citizens have sent out groups of people to capture these creatures and safely remove move them to a contained area.

As a result of the pythons the environment is also suffering. The American Crocodile is now fighting for food and territory due to the invasion of the pythons. There has also been a steady decline of smaller animals due to the invasion of the pythons.
