Leopard Geckos Have True Beauty: Proof is in the Photos

All nature has some beauty, but some of it can be missed unless we look a little closer. The color in Leopard Geckos now is something to see.

Leopard Geckos Have Natural Beauty

Their beauty can be seen with no trouble in the first 3 photos, but with a good camera, and some close up shots, we can see beauty that might otherwise go unnoticed.

I really like the close up shots of their eyes, you can even see the veins. I used a cannon camera, with a multiplying filter. Some multiplying filters are stack-able. With my camera, the lens is threaded, to allow you to screw on the filter, and then each filter is threaded, to allow for them to be stacked. If you are considering taking these types of photos, I would recommend that you visit a store that specializes in photography equipment, and discuss your plans with someone knowlegeable in the field.

Notice the vertical slitted pupil. The albino above is lacking black pigment, so the red color of the blood veins in it’s eye can be easily seen. The albino gene also eliminates the black pigment in the skin, but has no affect on yellows, and oranges. The photo below is of a gecko that has normal black pigment, but is a variety called snow, so has reduced yellow and orange, making for more of a white gecko.

The gecko in the photo below has a gene that makes the eye a deep ruby red color in the albino form, and solid black when normally pigmented.

The last photo is of a close shot of the skin of an albino. It is hard to believe these kinds of colors, and textures occur in nature.

These photos reveal sometimes unnoticed beauty of some small reptiles, but the same principle applies to other things in nature, when you take a closer look, such as flowers and insects.

    Truly amazing! Wonderful shots.
I will have a closer look at my house guests. I have dozens come out every night looking for their dinner. Not as spectular as your little beauty, but probably have as much to offer.
