Ladybug Infestation
Strange…
Not that long ago I came home to find a massive ladybug infestation. Soon after that, I found out I wasn’t the only one.
They were everywhere, around the door, swarming the driveway, crawling the side and back walls of the house and just in the air. There were so many there that most were touching. It was nuts! That wasn’t it though, because when we went inside there were a few on the inside door and some more flew inside. They were on the curtains, a lot on the windows, flying around the air space and near any source of light, etc. You name it, they were there.
Here’s something you might not know, some ladybugs (but very few) bite. Of course they aren’t as bad as tarantulas, bees, hornets, wasps, praying mantises…; a lot of things, but they are still annoying in different ways. For example, they buzz. Loud. Really loud, even. When they try to land on a wall or the ceiling their back plates (opened up) or their wings hit the wall causing a loud, startling BZZZZ!!!An example of this being really aggravating is when you’re trying to go to sleep and there are four on the ceiling buzzing around and keeping you up all night or at least waking you up a few times. AGH!
Also, from a distance while ladybugs are flying you can’t quite tell that they are ladybugs sometimes because:
1. Their back plates are opened up so you can’t see their body design patterns
2. While they’re flying they look bigger (because of opened back plates and wings out) so it’s even HARDER to tell if they are flies, bees, ladybugs or something else.
3. From a distance if they are in certain positions they blend in, sometimes because from a distance they might look somewhat darker so you can’t see any of their usual color patterns.
ETC.
Another annoying thing about ladybugs is that they always try to get out the window and if you have curtains they end up there. The annoying thing about that is that when you try to get them out of the curtain to release them outside or kill them (depending on how many you’re dealing with) they get tangled around the curtain and when you finally find which spot they were in you turn the curtain and they fall (sometimes) or if you are trying to kill them and you are getting aggravated then you might just squish them trying to get them out of the curtain which leaves a bad stain on the curtain from where they were squished.
A good thing about it is that it’s usually really bad for only one day and lasts for about a week, more or less.
A bad thing about it is that when they do move away some stay and die, resulting in tons of little dead ladybug bodies all over the porch and driveway and sidewalk and where ever else.
If you are experiencing a ladybug infestation yourself, you aren’t the only one!

Wow, that sounds very annoying. Poor things. No one WANTS to kill a ladybug; they are supposed to be good luck.
