Honey Bees

Why are honey bees important?

Honey bees that were once very common are now becoming very rare. You won’t see them in bunches that much unless you live near a bee keeper. Now that these bees are reducing in number, does that affect us? Of course it does because honey bees help pollinate a variety of farm crops, vegetables, fruits and many other plants. So if the bees weren’t here to do that, our crops would also be reducing and not only that, it affects another creature. Do you have any guesses? The answer to that are the birds. The birds would not have enough food to last them the winter. Another question is, why are the bees dying? Well, since they live in the countryside, that has disappeared and not mysteriously, but we have one main group of suspects. Us. We destroyed that habitat of bees for our needs. They were there first. If we were to stop the population of honey bees would stop decreasing as much. Anyways, these honey bees are very healthy and disease-free. Another reason why honey bees are disappearing, a type of parasite that is yet to be named. The parasite plants itself to the adult bee and sucks the bee blood. It also lays eggs in the cell where the bee larvae are developing and the young bee then emerges already carrying the mites. The effect of this is to reduce the life of the bee. So the people that should be praised for protecting the honey bees are the beekeepers.
