Biggest (Insert Word Here) Animals
These are the record holding animals for what they’re good at.
The largest living animal on the Earth is the Blue Whale. Weighing in at 30 tons, and measuring 100ft, this is one whale of a whale. (Pun intended) This creature is listed as an endangered species due to whaling. However, whaling has been banned and the whales are back on their way to increasing numbers.

If the blue whale is the biggest creature on Earth, then the land animals have to fight back. The largest land animals is the African Bush Elephant. When it is born it weighs in around 100kg (200 pounds). The largest recorded of this species weighed around 13.5 tons! This beast of a beast (another pun) is found in the rainforests of the Congos and around the Sahara. This animal is also endangered due to ivory poaching.

The largest carnivore on the Earth goes to the Southern Elephant Seal. This animals weigh in 11,000 pounds and 6.9 meters long.(22.5feet) Once again this animal was endangered due to overhunting, but now it has bounced back and is reaching the 600,000 mark in numbers.
The biggest hare is the European Hare. Native to northern, western, and central Europe as well as western Asia, this hare beats all. It can weigh up to 14.6 pounds and can reach 30 inches in length.
The Eastern Lowland Gorilla is the largest primate of Earth. The males are monstrous reaching 500 pounds and 6ft tall in the wild. Just for the record, the largest primate to ever walk the Earth was Gigantopithecus reaching 10ft and 700-1200 pounds. Again, these creatures are endangered, estimated to have only 7,000 left.

Know anyone afraid of mice? Well this next record is the biggest rodent. The title goes to the capybara. An adult of this species can reach 176 pounds, 5ft long, and 3ft tall. For a change, this species is not threatened or endangered.
