My father has taught me many things throughout my life and continues to do so today.  However, in the real world – all kids are not as lucky as I have been or animals for that matter.  I felt it nice to share that some animal dads do stick around.

• Gorilla dads. The Gorilla father likes to play the mediator between young gorillas.  He brakes up the fights and settles all disputes.
• Ostrich dads –Several new mothers wish that their baby’s father was an ostrich.  During the day the ostrich mother sets on the infant eggs and in the evening that father has the ‘entire’ night shift.
• Golden Lion Tamarin dads (a monkey)  The father is sure to be the one that shows his baby the wild.  The father takes his baby to the mother when it is time to eat and spends the rest of his time carrying the baby from tree to tree all over the forest.
• Sea Horse dads.  You could say they do all the work here.  They are the one who gets pregnant.  Though the female lays the eggs, she does so in the male’s pouch and he carries them for their term.
