A Few of the Strangest Animals in the World
There are some strange looking animals out there.
There are some really weird looking animals out there! I was surprised as to just how many there was. One of this writer’s favourite is the Duckbill Platypus. It appears to be a throw back from a wide variety of different species.

The Platypus was first discovered in Europe by a Capt. John Hunter in 1798. The male Platypus has a spur that will releases venom that will kill small animals. It poison will not kill a human but it can incapacitate them.
The Yeti Crab is yet another interesting discovery.

This creature is a new discovery and was discovered in 2005 by a group organized by Robert Vrijenhoek of the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute in Monterey California. This is really a unique find and I’m sure more discoveries of this kind will be forth coming as we expand the research of our oceans in the years ahead.
This next one is called the “Aye Aye” its name is as strange as it is!

It was thought to be extinct and then it was rediscovered in 1961. It’s world’s largest nocturnal primate. It is also on the worlds most endangered species list due to the fact its habitat is being destroyed.
The Proboscis Monkey is also a really strange primate. In 2006 Researchers discovered that less then 7000 are left in the world; they’re now also on the endangered list.

It kind of reminds me of the actor Jimmy Durante and his favourite saying, Cha Cha Cha.
The Philippine Tarsier is a very strange looking creature but yet it is also believed to be forty five million years old and one of the oldest lands species to live in the Philippines.

Its life span is believed to be only about 24 years out in the wild.
These are my five top picks for the Worlds Strangest Animals.
