Various animal kinds have different features to survive in wild nature. Some of them are discovered by scientists in the history. However, I believe there are many secrets of animals which have not been discovered yet. I have been researching on animals and noting whatever I’ve found interesting. After years, I’ve discovered many secrets of them which you don’t know yet.This is a great list of amazing facts of animals.
1. Dolphins sleep with one eye open
2. Crocodiles are blind in the water but very keen of sight in the air.
3. Crocodiles are color-blind.
4. Owls are the only bird that can see the color blue.
5. Unlike all other insects, flies have five eyes. They have two large eyes and three smaller eyes between them.
6. Snails have four noses.
7. Giraffes have no vocal chords
8. The tongues of chameleons are as long as it’s body or even longer. Some chameleon types have a tongue longer than two times of it’s body.
9. The tongues of chameleons are faster than a fighter jet.
10. The eyes of ostrich’s are bigger than their brains.
11. An ant can lift fifty times of it’s own weight
.
12. A cockroach can survive without it’s head for nine days. At the end of nine day, it dies because of hunger.
13. A tarantula can survive for more than two years without food.

Re: #3: Yes, they’re all animals. Slies are insects, roaches are too, as are ants. Spiders are arachnids, but those are all just different groups of animals.

Not true. The Satin Bowerbird chooses blue items to line it’s bower and impress females. Satin Bowerbirds near towns have been known to steal blue bottle caps, bits of blue glass, blue candy wrappers, or even blue keychains - keys still attached - to decorate its bower.

You are wrong about humans being the only creature that thinks. Animals could not survive if they were not able to take in and process information and then make decisions based upon that information. Contrary to the common misunderstanding, that other animals simply move and react from instinct, animals of many different species must learn from their parents how to live and survive. In fact an animal could not learn different behaviors if they were not able to think.

The cockroach is the Devil’s creature. It can survive off of fingernail clippings and cardboard, so I’ve heard. What absolute freaks (plus they traumatized me in my childhood!)

After noticing the horrible grammar in the introduction, I assumed that every fact in this blog would be completely false and invalid. Upon reading, I noticed only a few things that are not at all factual.
- An owl is in no way the only bird to see the color blue. I don’t know why anyone would think that.
- Giraffes do have vocal chords, they just rarely use them. Again, I’m not sure why you would believe that to be true, and I would really like to know where you get your facts.
- A chameleon’s tongue can move at a maximum speed between 13 and 14 miles an hour. Do you or any of your comment-writers actually believe that a chameleon tongue is faster than a fighter jet? A FIGHTER JET??? Are you referring to a jet like like an F-15? A jet that reaches Mach 2 and higher!!! I will assume that most of you who are so amazed by these facts, true or not, do not know how fast that is. Mach 2 is around 1400 miles per hour, over 2000 kilometers per hour. Do you honestly believe that a chameleon tongue could move that fast? There is currently no creature of earth that can naturally produce that speed in any way. If it could miraculously launch the tongue at that speed, it would sever from it’s body and travel over 23 miles (37 kilometers) in just 1 second.

Really interesting facts you have got here. I had known about the cockroach. It was featured in the movie - Mimic. There were many sequels for this. All were horror movies.
