I have a fascination towards bizarre, weird, wacky, fantastic, and unusual things. When it comes to life forms, there is a lot of diversity. I feel that most of them have not yet been discovered. Underneath the sea, we can see not only beautiful corals but also some bizarre sea creatures. Let us take a look at 10 bizarre sea creatures.

Giant Isopod:

This bizarre sea creature giant isopod belongs to crustacean family. It is believed that they are found abundant in regions that are very cold, especially, deep waters of Atlantic. They feast on water bodies that float near the seabed floor. This bizarre sea creature is a great hunter.

Dracula fish is a freshwater fish and is found abundant in Burma. These bizarre sea creatures got its name after spotting its unusual “fangs.” How this bizarre sea creature was found is interesting? In the year 1997, various aquarium fish specimens were sent to the United Kingdom and this fish was one among them. This is when they spotted this bizarre sea creature.

Blob fish:

Yet another bizarre sea creature. You can find blob fish in the deep waters of Australia and Tasmania. Blob fish can be found at places deep in water where the pressure is more when compared with the pressure at the sea level. These bizarre sea creatures, blob fish, are able to withstand this pressure as their body resembles a gelatinous mass.

Anglerfish:

This bizarre sea creature anglerfish belongs to Lophiiformes family. Few anglerfish dwell deep sea while few can be found in the open water. You can see three filaments sprouting from their head and this is what they use for hunting. Certain anglerfish emit light in order to attract its prey.

Giant Squid:

Giant squid is definitely a bizarre sea creature. It belongs to the Architeuthidae family. This is yet again one of the deep sea creatures. Male giant squid can grow to a maximum of 33 feet and the female giant squid to 43 feet. It was in 2004 that scientists were able to get the first live images of this bizarre sea creature, giant squid.

Pelican eel:

It has got a loosely-hinged mouth and therefore, can open wide enough to catch its prey, which can sometimes be bigger than itself. They grow up to 3.3 feet.

Psychedelic Frogfish:

We saw so many bizarre sea creatures; let us take a look at one more. It is the Psychedelic frogfish and it belongs to Antennariidae family. Don’t these stripes look like fingerprints?
