Warning! Some Truly Disgusting Mega-spiders!

They’re disgusting, scary, and massive; I think we’d all be nipping to the toilet for a clean-up if we saw one in real life. Try not to have nightmares!

They’re all gross to me!

There are loads of creepy spiders on earth. In fact, I don’t know about you but anything even resembling an arachnid is enough to send shivers down my spine. Here’s a brief selection of the scariest of all time… the BIGGEST!

Heteropoda Maxima

How would you feel if I was to describe to you a spider with leathery legs that spanned an impressive 1 foot leg span (the biggest leg span of any spider in the world)? Feeling squeamish? I am! So let’s have a round of applause please for the Giant Huntsmen Spider. Found in Laos these lanky things live in the entrances to caves. The following is not a Giant Huntsmen, just a regular one. It’s still horrible though!

Theraphosa blondi

Yes, it’s the turn of the Goliath bird-eater Spider. This bad boy tarantula is the biggest spider by mass in the world and named after what it does best. Generally these massive, burrow-dwelling arachnids feed off insects. In the wild however they have been seen feeding on anything from snakes and lizards to mice and birds.

The following video is grim. I don’t like it all. It does however demonstrate the power of the Goliath Bird Eating Spider. Please aim any hate at the person who made the video rather than me. Personally I think the person has got his pets (yes, remarkably people keep these as pets) the wrong way around. Kill the spider, keep the mouse!
