The Old World Comb Duck

Facts about the old world comb duck.

The Old World Comb Duck is 22 inches in length and can weigh up to 900 grams.  This species of duck is most commonly found in Africa and it likes to live in places like the Savannah and wood lands.  The longest this bird can live is 31 years. 

During the incubation period of 30 days the female Old World Comb Duck can produce a total of 10 eggs.  This duck is known for its migration route because it can travel a couple thousand kilometres during the year.  They nest in high trees that are 35 feet off of the ground or higher.
