Mollusks

This will talk about the three types of mollusk.

There are three types of mollusks: gastropods, bivalves, and cephalopods. Gastropods is the largest group of mollusks. All gastropods have shells except snails and slugs. Gastropods have a radula to rip and tear their food. Slugs and snails are active at night. Many gastropods have a pair of tentacles with eyes at the tips.

Bivalves are another type of mollusk. They have hinged two-part shells joined by strong muscles. Some bivalves are clams, oysters, and cuttlefish. Clams burrow deep in the sand for protection. Scallops escape predators by opening and closing their shelves rapidly and move the opposite direction.

Cephalopods are the most complex type of mollusk. They all have tentacles. They have large well-developed heads. Cephalopods are squids, octopuses, and cuttlefish. They all are predators. They use propulsion or they creep along the ocean floor.
