Weird Bugs
A collection of weird bug photos!
There are some weird bugs out there, here’s the first one. It’s some sort of fly…

Strange huh?
Just for the heck of it, see if you can find the bug in this picture. Hint: It’s a moth.

Some of them really blend into their enviroment! This is just one example of camoflauge.
Hey, doesn’t that design on it’s back look kind of like a smiley face? Nature must have a good sense of humor!
That moth blends into the brown leaves, but many blend into other things like grass, bark, even flowers.
Here’s another example, this is a praying mantis:

Credit to National Geographic for that last one, look at the bottom to see who took the photo.
Here’s a beetle that’s very strange…
It almost looks like it has the head of a tricerotops! Imagine it bigger and duller…

Speaking of weird beetles…
Is this some kind of beetle? I think so…

The stem it’s standing on looks fuzzier than it itself! Strange.
I kind of like bugs that glow, speaking of weird.
Here’s one, the firefly:

It’s kind of cute!
Getting back to weird bugs in general, what do you think this one is? I seriously can’t name it.

It looks like someone took a piece of paper, got it wet, colored it green, crunched it up, burned it, and somehow it turned into this. Look at it’s eye, it looks like an angry eye. It’s naturally tilted in that way to make it look angry. One more thing, what do you call those fat stubby things under it’s head to the left (picture wise)? Are those arms?
Moving on. This one is some kind of bee, but it looks different in some way…

It looks like it’s part dragonfly, just looking at its back.
Speaking of dragonflies, I just remembered that I have a picture of one right here…

It’s red. It’s big. It’s angry. DRAGONFLY.
Heh heh. These weird bugs do look very strange.
That just reminded me, really, about this thing about honey ants. The ones that eat massive amounts of honey and store it in their stomachs to be regurgitated later on for others to eat.
I might be able to get a picture…

They don’t look THAT big, do they?
Ok they are huge…, but just like any fat animal there are bound to be some…
…that like to super-over-eat…

O.o
They’re literally popping. If you look at the one to the left at the top you can see some dripping out. He looks like he’s about to explode. As for the other one, he doesn’t look well either. The one on the right looks like he’s having a hard time carrying all that weight everywhere…
I hear some people pick them up and eat them. They say the ants taste like candy. It’s understandable, considering that you’re getting mostly honey…
I think I have a picture related to weird ants also…

There it is!
It looks like it has horns- look at it’s head. Then look a centimeter up. Then, look at it’s neck that’s right there. On the neck there are two horn like things sticking out. What’s that about?
Speaking of looking back, I have some other pictures related to beetles also with me so for the next few there will be no text:

Only two? I thought I had more.
The first one is weird…, it doesn’t blend into it’s enviroment at all? What’s the point?
The second one is also very strange, look at the head tucked in. Look at the weird yellow fuzz growing off it’s back. Look at that antennae!!! Blue and black stripes? What’s the point!?
Eh, whatever.
Let me see what else I have that I can make critic-like comments about:

Ah, a perfect one!
That one was a leaf bug. Look at it. It’s all so origional. I have to ask though, what is that it’s standing on? I know it’s a leaf, but it’s really fuzzy! Not just leaf like fuzzy, REALLY fuzzy.
Anyway, do you know what goes great with leaf bugs? Take a guess.
Stick bugs!
It just so happens that I have a picture of one right here:

If you fattened it up and changed the texture, it would look somewhat like a bizzare giant scorpion. See how the back-end flicks up?
You know what else I just noticed? The face looks like some kind of strange venus fly trap. If you look really closely you’ll see what I mean. Is that just the texture of it?
Huh, I’m curious now. If some creature tried to eat it, would it be stick flavored and have a stick-like crunch? YUCK!!!
Thanks for looking through, remember to post comments to let me know what you thought!
