Weird and Wonderful Fish
There are some amazing fish and creatures in the sea. Some are quite beautiful to look at. Below are a few examples. Some just downright ugly. They all have quite distinguished features however, which make them quite unique.
There are over 29000 different species of fish which is fairly impressive.
Here are just a few of the weird and wonderful species of fish.

Above is the Lion Fish – with fan like fins, and distinguished markings , they are quite beautiful to look at. However are quite dangerous as the spines on their fins are poisonous. This fish is also known as the ‘Turkey Fish’. The common Lion fish averages beween 30cm and 35cm long.

The Axolotl,also known as Ajolote (meaning Mexican Mole Lizard), above and below are part of the tiger salamander family. According to research the only place on earth they are found are in Mexico. These fish are near extinction due the lack in numbers and a the Asian Carp being introduced to the waters, which have tken a liking to Axolotl babies.

The leafy sea dragon (Phycodurus eques) above are fantastic, how they blend in to their surroundings. A member of the marine related to the Seahorse. The transparent fins and timely movement gives it great camouflage to its surroundings and almost could be mistaken for floating seaweed.
There are many more beautiful, ugly and interesting fish out there.

fish are cool, my dad was and still is a fish specialist, he flies all over the world giving talks.
you should not that the Axolotl is confusing to see on your list because an amphibian it is NOT a fish at all.

OK guys give her a break on the Salamander. the damn thing is wet that makes it close enough to a fish for me!!!! Good article cool pictures even if you did include one creature from a slightly different background. Hell diversity is what makes life so fun!

I’ve seen the leaf fish at an aquarium. They’re so well camouflaged, it takes forever, it seems, to spot them.
