The Chameleon of the Ocean

Dubbed the Mimic Octopus, this amazing sea creature can twist itself into amazing replicas of other animals.

Take a look at all of the different sea creatures below. They look like different animals, right?

Wrong.

The Mimic Octopus can appear to be venomous sole, sea snakes, lion fish, jellyfish, and sea anemones. Quite a repertoire, eh?

The octopus measure about two feet in length and has brown and white stripes cover its body.

Like most other octopi, the Mimic Octopus is amazingly flexible (one the size of a volleyball once squeezed itself into a container as small as a can of soda). This allows it to perform its amazing contortion acts.

The only place you can see one (other than the wild – hard, considering it’s a master of disguises) is in the Toledo Zoo in Ohio.
