Octopi: The Invertebrate of The Sea
Some facts about the octopus.
The octopi are invertebrae, which means they have no bones. If their arms get cut off or harmed somehow, they can regrow them. They have suction cups on their arms too, so they can hold onto prey.
Octopi are extremely flexible. They can fit into almost anything! An octopus can crawl out of a tank and fit into a soda can! Also, octopi have a cell in them called chromataphore that they can use to change color for camoflague themselves or otherwise.
Octopi have glow-in-the-dark tentacles so they can see in the dark, deep in the ocean. They also use beaks that they use for eating their prey or otherwise. Their tongues are called radulas. They are very raspy. They use this to drill holes in crabs and other shellfish to inject paralysing saliva so they can procede to pull them apart.
Female octopi are very good parents. They will spend all of their time looking after their eggs and children. It will get so obssesed with taking care of the babies, they will forget to feed themselves and take care of themselves and will eventually die in most cases.
