Barracudas in the Wild

This is about barracudas in the wild. This tells where to find them, what they are, and much more.

A Barracuda is a long sleek fish, kind of like a bass. Barracudas live in warm waters like the Florida Keys. Barracudas can be up to 6 feet long and can be found in open ocean and in a coral reef. Barracudas are not fans of being together. Although, young barracudas will school with each other. Older barracudas will leave their young to survive on their own. Some barracudas will eat their own young.

Barracudas strongly rely on the element of surprise. A barracuda will lie in waiting for food to come near. Then, the barracuda will shoot out at speeds as fast as 27 mph! If a barracuda finds food but is not hungry, it will trap its prey in shallow waters

Barracudas have attacked many people. Some of the most common reason people are attacked are hand feeding, touching, and being mistaken for something else. The barracuda has no known predators.
