In 2005 species of underwater Bamboo alias Bamboo coral was discovered and believed to be 4000 years old. Life span of Bamboo coral is studied to be between 70 to 150 years and this incident left many people thinking and making their calculations upside down. Bamboo coral are composed of calcium carbonate and have a structure like tree with branches and sub branches. Subject that matters in the world of biological science is about survival of this Bamboo coral over these years under different climate changes. Later on, some remains of dead Bamboo corals were also found around the same region and are believed to be reasonably older than the live Bamboo corals. Task on hand is now to identify the cause of these Bamboo coral’s survival and accumulating new data and inventions about long time survival.

Recently, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration sponsored campaign in United States was able to come up with new seven species of Bamboo coral and out of these seven species six species are believed to be new classification of Bamboo coral.

I like bamboo coral and I have some of it in its natural state. The coral color comes from its ability to absorb dye.
