Insects
If all the inhabitants of our blue planet were to be weighed, one would obtain a figure approximating 200 million tons. The scientists pretend that this represents with much difficulty one tenth of the total weight of all the insects living on Earth. How many insects exist?

The number of insects on the planet is impossible to calculate. To get a better idea of what the statement before meant, it can be said that from a meadow having the dimensions of a football ground to 20 cm of depth only, one can count up to an average of 335 millions insects!!
Of course, nobody is aware of the exact quantity of insects. Till now, two million insect species have been listed under Latin names. And every year, hundreds of new species are discovered which is why several millions of species are yet unknown till now.
