Why Humans Cry?

Humans cry as to how physiological and emotional reasons. Researchers and scientists wants to prove the physiological aspect of how tears are created and how it started. There are also types of tears that humans produce.

Researchers and scientists observed that women cry five times a month while men cry once every four weeks and babies cry to let everyone know that they are alive and healthy. What makes the difference between animals from humans? Animals do whimper, howl and wail when they are in distress but there are no tears at all, not even the primates which are the closest to humans. They have tear ducts but it’s just for ocular housecleaning, bathe and clean the eyes. There are reasons as to why humans cry.

This takes back from the primitive times, where it’s a sign or signal of pain or distress. It developed as a form of communication that bonds humans that no other creature can experience it. This bond helped ancestors and descendants to survive, which completely change the way they think or the way their cognition improved and that make humans complex other than any creatures.
Scientists believed that babies were born with structures of the midbrain that makes them automatically cry. This indicates that the roots of crying run deep into the evolutionary past.

As they turn adults, they have other reasons for crying. There are deeper emotions involved as they matured, this means it’s not already physiological in aspect such as how babies react when they are hungry, in pain, not comfortable maybe because their diapers are full. Adults cry because it’s a signal to others that the emotions are strong and genuine.

There are three kinds of tears produced by humans:
First it’s called basal tears. These tears bathe the eyes every time humans blink.
Second are the reflex tears. These reflex tears are produced when eyes got poked or fumes from onions irritates them.
Lastly, it’s the emotional tears. These are produced by feelings felt like anger, sadness, happiness and others.
Researchers speculate that crying is one way that the human body flushes out chemicals that are present during the strong emotions. Crying is a nature of humans, that makes us different from all living creatures and it only indicates that humans are still higher when it comes to intelligence and emotions.
