Anyone can build muscle and fat loss by lifting weights. If the question is, then, is your genes determine whether you will get stronger or greater by weight lifting – the answer is no. It does not matter what your genetic tendencies are you are you can improve your body and health through weightlifting. Ultimately, how big or how strong you get determined by genetics. For this reason, you can take any two people, with the possible exception of identical twins, put them side by side in the gym, they exactly the same routines for the same amount of weeks – and they will undoubtedly build muscle and burn fat at different rates. We all know that people whether they are weight lifters or not – just seems to be able to eat what they want and stay slim and muscular, never seem to put on weight. While there are others, probably most of us know that “just to look at food” and put on fat. This really is a genetic factor. There are people who are just as mesomorphic a genetic predisposition to high metabolic rate known – they burn fat build muscle mass, simple and easy – so yes could be such people as’ Natural Bodybuilder.

So what does all this mean as far as strength training goes? Not really much. If you get into weightlifting for good health, increased strength and stamina – it does not matter whether you are a man, a woman, are eight or eighty. No matter what your genetic make-up that you to benefit from weight lifting and building muscle mass fits your maximum potential in light of your genes and your lifestyle. If on the other hand, you dream of a professional bodybuilder or weightlifter then have to hold your hand closer to your genes, you can have treated. Someone who is 5.1, could very athletic and is very good at basketball – but it is very unlikely that he ever begin to play in the location center for the Lakers. It is equally unlikely one person with a genetic smaller scale have become a champion bodybuilder. The kind of body-building competitions and see what the judges usually give a great advantage to larger more men and women. And the aforementioned “mesomoprhic” types have a much easier time to make the training and want to go to the 2-3% body fat at Champion Bodybuilder.

Bottom line, do not give much thought of what lies in your genes. Train hard, pushing themselves to their limits everyday. Follow a good diet of weightlifting at least 3-4 days a week, eat right, rest a lot, and do cardio. Look in the mirror in one or two years – and I am sure you are very much of that back with us. Surely you will probably feel better and look better in your “jeans” then most people around you – no matter what is in their “genes”.
