Three Levels of Consciousness
Out of the presumed three levels of consciousness, only sub-consciousness and consciousness are natural for healthy persons. The super-consciousness is either a drama or is the result of a mental disorder of the person.
Generally speaking, a person is said to have three levels of consciousness – sub-consciousness, consciousness and super-consciousness. On a deeper understanding, I reach the conclusion that the super-consciousness is either artificial or a mental disorder. Thus, healthy and natural levels of consciousness are only two – subconscious and conscious. Another important point here to note is that these levels of consciousness are related to person’s mind, and not to the brain. Therefore, we may say that we have two types of minds – sub-conscious mind and conscious mind. For this, difference between mind and brain need be understood.
Conscious mind, indeed, connects the person to the external world and the cause of all his/her deliberate intentions, thoughts and actions. Of course, all these functions are performed through brain of the person. At the genesis of a person, there exists only his conscious mind. When some functions of the conscious mind are performed repetitively, so that the mind need not to make any efforts to perform, a sub-conscious mind is created to take over all repetitive functions from the conscious mind.

The greatest of the functions of the sub-conscious mind are regulation and control of physiological functions of various organic systems within the body such as respiration, blood circulation, digestion, etc. Once, the sub-conscious mind takes over a responsibility, it frees the conscious mind from these functions. Or, in other words, it goes beyond control of the conscious mind under normal circumstances.
Two more functions of the sub-conscious mind are routine physical activities of the body in the external world, and display of dreams to the person. For example, when an experienced person bicycles, the pedaling function, needing no attention, is under sub-conscious mind while the steering remains under the conscious mind.
Dreams, not the day-dreams, are working of the sub-conscious mind, thus beyond control of the conscious self of the person. Whatever things, thoughts, activities and events strike the person repetitively and deeply, these get transgressed into sub-conscious mind and may get visualized as dreams. This visualization is in random order and often a random combination of sch things.
An important ingredient of consciousness is auto-suggestion by the person to him/herself. This suggestion often originates at an external source and through conscious mind of the person reaches his/her the sub-conscious mind. For this transgression, there has to be a conscious willingness of the person to accept the suggestion. Hypnosis, indeed a dormancy of conscious mind, is affected through such an auto-suggestion. For this reason, no person can be hypnotized unless he/she himself is willing to get hypnotized.
All religious and spiritual followings are induced through the auto-suggestion process, first making the person devoted and then suggesting him/her to follow. Since, these are under control of the sub-conscious mind, their reversal is very difficult, if not impossible, making the following a blind one, needing no reason or logic.
Now, we come to the third level of consciousness – super, which is really super, supra, or superfluous, or spurious. In a healthy person, it is a drama that the person decides to enact to show to others that he/she is something special to attract their attention, get their favor, or even exploit them. All claims of being divine or divinely connected are super dramas of this type mainly aimed at exploiting the vulnerable people.
Some persons develop mental disorders and they behave like ghosts etc. forgetting their own identities. For this, they need to have faith in existence of phantoms of ghosts etc. For this reason, no person having faith in the existence of ghosts has ever seen a ghost. Such persons, need physiological as well as psychological treatments.

Thanks, my dear Soccoro, for the encouragement. I am not a psychologist by profession, but have interest in the subject.
