The Blood Plasma
The blood plasma is composed of 90 percent fluid and the remaining 10 percent are compose of inorganic minerals as well as digested food substances.
The blood plasma is responsible for transporting the blood to the cells (the red blood cells in particular). At the same time the plasma carries food to the cells. The blood plasma also picks up waste materials. This fluid has antibodies which protect our body from infection.

The fluid part is called serum and it was separated from the solid components by configuration. When the flowing blood reaches the capillaries, the serum will leaks out through the capillary vessel walls. It will then go into tiny lymph vessels and then going into larger veins.

The inorganic minerals will dissolve in water and give a salt content of about 1 percent. This is the reason why blood is a little salty.
The digested food substances in the blood change in the form of glucose, fatty acids, glycerol and amino acids. This materials will be transported to the liver and in other places which it will be stored.
The blood plasma plays an important role in our body specially in the body transport system. It carries the red blood cells, carries the food to the cells, picks up waste materials, and protects our body from infection through the help of the antibodies.
