Human Heart and the Hormones That Make It Beat Faster and Slower

The human heart is an organ very important to us. Without it we can’t live. Let’s see what things make it beat faster.

An Adrenalin Attack

When a normal human has an adrenalin attack he/she can do things a normal human can’t do simply by sending out adrenalin. A very small amount of adrenalin (less than 0.2 grams) is sufficient to accelerate the heart beat. In the time of an adrenaline attack, most of the blood is directioned from the non-vital functions (digestion) to mussels. A human can run three times faster in the time of an adrenaline attack.

An adrenalin attack releases when you feel panic. When your life depends on it, the suprarenals releases adrenaline to save it. It’s like an automatic turbo system of the body.

When You Are Scared

When you are scared of something, your brain starts the “auto defence system”. When you lie it’s the same, you’re scared. That’s why when we lie we tend to move a finger, to blink, etc.

Why? Because when we lie brain tels us we are in danger. Some people can control that system, but they are few.

Have you ever heard about melatonin?

If you had a buddie who couldn’t sleep, you would now. It’s a hormone that induces sleep. That makes your heart go slower.
