Genetic Engineering

Why is it that people strive to be perfect?

Why is it that people strive to be perfect? As if being alive is not the most rewarding factor, you want more. Or having one child and just simply saying to yourself that you wish he/she were better.

Genetic Engineering is common in today society. Although many people don’t know it. Parents look for a better life through their children sometimes and when there first child isn’t good enough, they turn to play the game in cheating GOD.

What is Genetic Engineering?

Genetic Engineering is the use of molecular cloning and transformation techniques to alter the structure and characteristics of genes directly. Not saying that genetic engineering is bad, but my parents were to tell me that they made me who I am it would make me feel like I am suppose to accommodate there standards.

A novel I read My Sister’s Keeper is simply about a young girl who was genetically programmed by her parents to be the perfect donor for her older sister who was diagnosed with cancer. Sure that seems reasonable on the behalf of the cancer patient. But who would want to live a life were all they are they for is to keep someone else alive. Who wants to live a life were all you do is live in the hospital, when you are not the one who is sick. Who wants to live a life that they themselves can’t control because this young girl who was genetically programmed is only 13 and her parents have a say in her medical attention.

Let me ask you something. When you look at your life are you pleases. Are you thrilled or satisfied about how things have went or are going. If so good, then you have the great feeling of accomplishment that you could do it on your own with what you were given.

Now let me ask you something else. What if you did like your life but you knew that it wasn’t because you did it, but because you parents chose it for you. What if in fact you turned out not to like your life and could nothing about it because the genetically programmed genes you were given by your parent.

Bottom line, Genetic Engineering I believe is mans way of cheating God. I believe it takes away from Uniqueness and eliminates the most valuable traits that can wither make or break someone.

Great article… but without those genetic engineering we can’t engage on new discoveries for better life… but i agree with your point that it is a form of cheating God. =]
