Different Eye Colors
Different people have different eye colors.

Eyes are very important part of our body.But have you ever thought why people have different eye colors? Eye color is a polygenic trait and is determined by the amount and type of pigments in the eye’s iris.It is due to a dark brown pigment called Melanin ,produced in the iris of the eyes.
The genes for eye color decides the melanin amount and hence the color of the eye..So people with the lighter skin and hair have lower level of melanin and usually have lighter color of eyes.There is only three colors as classified that determine the outward appearance; brown, yellow, and blue.Number of genes controlling melanin decides the eye color also.Many babies have blue eyes at the of birth because at that time their body has not started to produce of melanin in their body.Their true color may not be revealed for several months.Its not necessary for a baby to have same eye color as that of his parents.
People often see temporarily change in the eye color of an adult.It can be due to the light reflections of clothes and different environmental colors around them.

Broadly the color classification is
- Amber: Amber color eyes are often confuse with Hazel.Although hazel eyes may contain a touch of amber or gold, they usually tend to comprise many other colors, including green, brown and orange.

- Blue: Blue eyes contain low amounts of melanin within the iris.

- Brown: This is the most dominant color in humans.Very dark brown eyes may tend to appear black as well.

- Gray: These color eyes have less melanin than blue eyes.

- Green: This color can be result of low to moderate amounts of melanin
- Hazel: Hazel eyes often appear to shift in color from a light brown to a medium golden-dark green
- Red: A very low amount of melanin is present in these kind of eyes.Only 20 cases have been reported in the whole world
- Violet: This color can be the outcome of red and blue reflections.Some albinos have these color of eyes.

That is an interesting article. I have two different coloured eyes, one hazel and one green. I wonder why that is. Good work.

NO ONE REPLIES. SAD.OH I FOUND A NEW WEBSITE TO LOOK FOR DIFFERENT EYE COLORS.I FORGOT IT BUT OK.BUT I STILL WANT TO SEE MORE DIFFERENT EYE COLORS. my eyes are brown but i always love to have a blue eyes thats why i always wear blue contact lense.i love it.specially when ur under the sun they look amazing.but somtimes my friends tease me that i look like a cat.

I have really really dark brown eyes (what I like to call Asian brown!) and I do like them loads although I want a pair of grey contact lenses! Just to be a bit different. Interesting stuff although I did know a bit of it before. Nifty work.

my eyes are gray and i love them…
I think light blue, green, brown, and dark brown
are so pretty too, but I wouldn\’t change my
eye color for any other color.
