Development of Muscles

To remain healthy, it is also essential to avoid developing bad habits. We will study about those habits which are very harmful to health.

You must have seen the well development muscles of athletes and other players. Exercise develops muscles. So if you want to have a healthy and well-formed body, you must play games and take exercise regularly. It is very essential to walk erect and sit straight, otherwise body develops a stoop. You should take care of you body.

To remain healthy, it is also essential to avoid developing bad habits. We will study about those habits which are very harmful to health. Many people use tobacco which is very injurious to health. Tobacco contains a poisonous substance called `nicotine’, which is harmful to body.

People who are regularly smoke cigarettes, `biri’ etc. are called likely to surface from lung cancer. Those who chew tobacco in `paan’ many suffer from cancer of mouth.

Like tobacco, there are other harmful substances such as alcohol, cocaine, heroin, marijuana etc. These are certain drugs which are also very harmful for our health. So keeping in mind the harmful effects of the above mentioned substances, we should try to avoid all these substances, otherwise they will ruin our life and make our family unhappy.  

Types of muscles: According to their structure and functions, muscles are put into three groups.

  1. Voluntary muscles: The muscles which bring about the movements of the skeleton are called voluntary muscles. These muscles are under the control of our will.
  2. Involuntary muscles: Involuntary muscles are not under the control of our will. So they are called involuntary muscles. Example- you con not control your heart beats. You can not stop your breathing.
  3. Cardiac muscles: The muscles of the heart are different from the above two. These muscles are not under the control of our will. Such muscles called cardiac muscles.
