Giant Ant Holes in Boreal Forests
Photo and comments about these huge thatched homes housing thousands of busy insects.
Anybody needs a cushion? If your clothes are 100% sealed and you don’t have any phobias or allergy to ants, then you might like to try to sit on top of this one. I saw it in a nice Karelian forest, together with many more ant holes, ant houses or even you could call them ant skyscrapers considering the relative sizes of ants and their homes. On top it was all covered with pine needles like a thatched house and there are always thousands of busy ants walking all over it. Usually you find them at the base of a big tree. If nobody wants to sit on it I will accept any polite declination.
