Urine: a New Source of Fertilizer

50 years from now, one of the key component in agricultural fertilizers will be gone. This component is Phosphorus. Without this component our agricultural supplies like rice, vegetables, corn, wheat, and all kinds of fruits will suffer from shortage, this is according to the study made by Cynthia Mitchell a professor of the Institute of Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology in Sydney. According to the study, the most concentrated source of phosphorus is our urine. However, our urine is being diluted through our sewerage and being thrown-out in to the ocean.
This shortage is really serious. A lack of phosphorus can affect the future quality of our soil and its production. According to Mitchell, in the industrialized world we must start moving to a resource-recovery approach rather than the current waste-treatment approach.
Right now, this shortage is not really being felt and society has not yet realized the severity of this issue. But when this day will come, you will not be surprise if someone will knock on your door and offer to buy your urine.

The Swedes have perfected “Dry Toilets” using no water and are using them as we speak! The city stuff goes to bio-digesters, making methane to run city buses. Oslo Norway does the same! Americans still think it great sport to destroy their rivers, lakes and ocean-front because they are a backwards lot, and have too much money, too little intelligence, they will never gain intelligence, but the (GRD)great republican depression, caused by their great sloth and greed is quickly making most of them insolvent and unable to command the waste of the worlds resources by paying in cash!Their comeuppance has come up and they are screwed good! Pissing on a bed of sawdust then working it into the garden works well. Routine, daily if possible waterings with dilute urine is good for gardens and as for the solid stuff, the dry composters sound cleanest and safest! Americans will soon find petroleum based fertilizers for lawns and gardens priced off the market by OPEC and the Saudis, as they cut oil production to raise the price of oil and the standard of living for their own countries at our expense, since they have a monopoly on our drug of choice – oil! We need to go solar, wind wave so bad, but we are so stubborn and arrogant and entitled as to not see it – this may be our Achilles heel, our downfall as a world power and the end of the U.S.A. – Remember, even our fighter jets are useless without precious oil! and we are about to be taught this lesson at the hand of the Saudis, our new Masters!
