Preserving Biodiversity is Important, Especially as Time Goes on
Something I wrote in my Science class in College.
One of the most compelling (arguments) to me is the argument that biodiversity boosts economies through tourism and recreation. Although there was not a ton of information in the textbook that we used, I read about ecotourism and how it can bring jobs and income to areas that could go through poverty (or are going through).
The least compelling was tough to choose since they all seem pretty fair. Enhancing food security and proving drugs and medicines naturally is important, so that to me would be more compelling. Perhaps, the argument that biodiversity helps maintain ecosystem function. Although healthy and functioning ecosystems are important, it may be more important to think about food security and natural drug and medicine.
