Pollution Free Polluting Car: Extreme Science

Automobiles are one of the major air polluters around the globe. It has become a necessary evil. An age has been reached, where their use can be reduced but can’t be stopped. Everyone is helpless whether you are environment conscious or not. The gaseous exhaust of these vehicles is full of killing pollutants. Some examples are oxides of nitrogen, oxides of sulphur, carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide and poly aromatic hydrocarbons.  

What is the reason?

Their no other means of transportation which can transport people from one point to another in less or equivalent time as compared to automobile. As a result dependency on automobiles continues.

What have people done? What is the reality?

Some of the strategies which have been commonly used to deal with this issue are to make automobiles less polluting by making them more efficient and/or by changing their fuel. In reality, every option comes with a cost which is not cheap. As a result, very few commercial successes are known to the people.

Is there any other option?

Someone has once said that your mind is your biggest challenge. The option which no one seems to have considered is the treatment of the exhaust of the automobiles. The issue with the fossil run automobiles is its exhaust. Everyone is focussing on the start-point solutions, but no focus has been given to the end point solutions, which may become more feasible with advancements in the field of environmental sciences, biotechnology and chemical engineering.

There several cases of extreme science, which can indicate the power possessed by the current science. Scientists have been facing the challenge of providing light in isolated areas have come with the solution in the form of genetically engineered Light Emitting Plants, which emit light in dark. In another case, scientists are trying to develop a technology which can do future decoding.
