Pennsylvania Problems

This is going to be an article about how Governor feels about taxing natural gas extraction.

In Pennsylvania a brouhaha is erupting because Governor Tom Corbett refuses to impose a tax on the natural extraction of gas. Some people are saying they won’t tax them because the gas companies gave Corbett about a $1 million for his governor campaign.

But some of the more than 1,500 people who attended a conference of Pennsylvania State Association of Town Supervisors were applauding and happy when Corbett said “I will not let you poison the water.”

Western and Northern Pennsylvania have gas underneath them called the Marcellus Shale Formation. Local officials are getting nervous  because so many people  oppose drilling  because they said that it would contaminate the drinking water. They worry about drilling wate.  Some are delivered  to water treatment plants then let into water that is used for drinking water.

In Early April Tom Corbett they were raising the levels of how much water they screen for contaminates from drilling. He also said there will be more places to check state rivers.

Tom Corbett also said, “We need to protect the water, but it must be based on science, not emotion.”

Hydro fracturing does pollute water, but the states and residents are so desperate for money from the oil and gas companies they are willing to turn a blind eye to the pollution and carbon gases this industry creates.

There is an appaling lackof concern for the health of the residents being displayed by those who want to do the drilling, regardless of the dangers.
