Eco House
For our house, we carefully studied the possibilities of what eco-friendly technologies we should use. After a long time of researching and debating, we decided on a list of technologies, which we thought would be substantial for a beach house.
For creating energy in our house, we decided to use windmills, solar panels and watermills to provide power in our house. As for waste, we have included a compost pit, a water treatment system, and technology which can use excreted waste for power and fuel. The materials for our house are important for saving energy, heat and sturdiness.
Energy is important for every house, which is why we have multiple ways to make it in our eco-house. The first is a large windmill sitting on the hill. On windy days it provides plenty of energy for the house, and as it uses wind, the windmill is eco-friendly. The second way of producing energy is using solar panels. The solar panels on the roof of the house, provides much energy on sunny days, which is also an eco-friendly technology.
The last of our energy-producing technologies, is our watermill. Even though it does not appear on the model, it still provides energy for the house. It is placed under the water in the river, and as the water goes down the river, it turns the water turbine. All three of our energy-producing resources are eco-friendly, mostly because the resources they use are renewable resources. These technologies may not be cheap at first, but will save a lot of money in the future. They are more efficient then other technologies, and don’t destroy any of the planets resources. They save a lot of money on electricity, and save a lot of energy too.
Waste is a major problem in this world, and it is questionable what to do with it. We have discovered three different ways to use of waste efficiently. One of them is the compost pit. A lot of the wastes produced in our house, can be placed in the compost pit for natural decomposing. The compost pit would be mainly used for food scraps, but could be used for other things.
Another waste technology we have decided to use is the water treatment system. This would allow for all the used water to be treated and then disposed of into the sea. This is good for both the house and the sea, because it removes waste, without damaging nature. The final technology is the excretion recycling system. This can use the excreted waste produced in the house, to provide both heat and methane gas for the house.
All of these waste disposal types are eco-friendly, and save money. They are much better then other methods of waste disposal, as they do not damage the environment. The technology could possibly cost quite a bit, but will greatly help you save your money, and look after the environment.
Of all the technologies you put in your house, the material you build it with is one of the most important. So we have a range of different materials for all the different parts of the house. The materials which we have decided to use are clay tiles for the roof, plywood for the exterior walls, Trombe-Michel for the interior walls, both timber and marble for the floors, and a mixture of both solar control and thermal insulating glass windows. We have also decided to have the house painted with weather-proof paint coating, to protect from the sea by the house.
All the items we have chosen will together help save electricity, insulate heat, protect against sunlight, and remove moisture from the sea that is being sprayed onto the house. They materials are very strong and should last a long time. The materials aren’t very expensive, except for some which are very valuable but worth it, and will help keep the house a very nice place to live in. Other materials we had previously chosen were not as good at protecting form the weather etc, and these materials we did like and use, suited exactly what we needed them for.
We believe that the technologies and materials we have selected for our eco-house, are very eco-friendly and reliable. They may be expensive, but this house is worth every cent.
